The town park in Tatranská Lomnica is the oldest park in the High Tatras and the surrounding area. Its history dates back to 1892. It is located in the heart of the picturesque mountain settlement of Tatranská Lomnica. There are typical Tatra plant species located here. It is a popular place for everyday walks with a beautiful view of the Tatra peaks dominated by Lomnický štít. The park hosts cultural and social events for the general public. The park also includes an educational trail Cesta stromov (“Path of Trees”).

Climatic conditions in the Tatras are unsuitable for the growth of common ornamental flowers, but despite that, there are several flowery areas in the park, blooming mainly in yellow and purple. The park grows typical Tatra trees such as Norway spruce (Picea abies), which grows to a height of 40 to 60 m and can live for 200-300 years. The trunk of the tree can have a diameter of 1-1.5 m and the crown is conical in shape. The branches hang at the ends and the bark is reddish brown to gray and there are thin scales on it. European larch (Larix decidua) is another Tatra deciduous conifer, growing to a height of 40 m. The cones have a cylindrical to conical shape, they are often in large numbers on branches. The needle-like leaves fall in the autumn, after they turn deep yellow. There is also a Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) in the park, evergreen coniferous tree growing to a height of about 30 m. The needles are 4 – 8 cm long and grow in bundles of two from one bundle. European silver fir (Abies alba) belongs to the very tall Tatra trees, it can grow to a height of 50m. In addition to conifers, the park also has a deciduous tree, growing to a height of 30 m Common aspen (Populus tremula), which is known for the typical vibration of leaves with typical noise. It has a thin and wide crown, the trunk is slightly bent, the bark is smooth, slightly sticky, gray-green in color.
