From Tatranská Lesná through the Waterfalls to Tatranská Lomnica

Pleasant walk suitable for families with children. We start in Tatranská Lesná, where we can easily get by tram. After getting out, we cross the road and the guidepost immediately directs us towards Vodopády Studeného potoka that will take about 1,30 h on a yellow trail ( ). We follow first a forrest path, later a rocky trail. The ascent is light at first but gradually, especially till the end, turns into steep. The natural scenery is beautiful, we pass through the areas with the crystal clear Studenovodský brook, at least we can hear it somewhere. We will see the waterfalls: Dlhý („Long“), higher up Veľký („Great“), Skrytý („Hidden“) and Malý („Small“) vodopád. If we would like to, we can extend the route by about 0.25 hours and see the Obrovský vodopád („Huge waterfall“). We cross the bridge at the Veľký vodopád and head to Tatranská Lomnica 1,50h. ( ). The rocky trail turns into a forrest path. We get off the trail at the cable car station to Štart and Skalnaté pleso. It takes about 0,10h. To get down into the Tatra settlement. If we want to refresh ourselves along the way, we can do so with a short detour from the waterfalls either at Bilíkova chata, Rainerova chata or Hrebienok. The route is accessible all year round.
