StrážkyThis historical complex is comprised of a 1590 renaissance chateau and the late gothic church of St Anne with its renaissance Belfry which is part of the National Heritage. Inside the chateau there is a permanent exhibition of the historic furniture and the art gallery of Ladislav Mednyansky an important 19th century artist and the former owner of the property. The complex is now part of the nation's heritage and its ownership comes within the Slovak National Gallery. Collection of Antique Furniture, Gold Pieces and Interior Decorations evokes the spirit of an aristocratic residence. To ensure a homogeneous style, the exhibition also includes, besides the original mobiliary, other objects and artefacts from the collections of the Slovak National Gallery. The richly engraved inlaid door from the 16th century, produced in the workshop of the Lang family in Kežmarok, belongs to the most precious items of the original interior. The porcelain dinner and glass sets come from Bohemia, Austria, Germany and France, the most precious being a Meissen set decorated with the paintings of J. G. Horoldt from the 18th century. High Tatras:
The town of High Tatras was founded in 1947 and it has a population of 5,000 residents. The Administrative centre of the town is Stary Smokovec, which together with Tatranska Lomnica and Strbske Pleso provides the focal point for one of the three most important Tatra tourist resorts. High Tatras covers an area of 398 square km and is one of the largest cities in the Slovak republic.
