Spišská Sobota
This former independent town is now part of today's historical preserve of the city of Poprad. The main square is dominated by the church of St George, dating from 1273 and rebuilt in the baroque style in the 18th century. The original gothic interior of the church and the wooden altar of Master Paul of Levoca dating from 1516 is one of its main attributes.

Kežmarok
This is one of the oldest and most important towns in the Spis region holding title since 1269. The predominant feature of the town is the 14th century gothic castle rebuilt into a renaissance chateau and modified during the baroque period. It was the main seat of the barons of Thokoly who were renowned as the leaders of the anti-Habsburg uprising. Today the castle is a museum in which medieval handicrafts are displayed. The other main visitor sites in the town are the renaissance town hall built in 1553, the wooden "articular" church without a spire (1717) and the Lutheran Lycee, built in 1776 which contains the largest school library of medieval middle Europe.

Strážky
This historical complex is comprised of a 1590 renaissance chateau and the late gothic church of St Anne with its renaissance Belfry which is part of the National Heritage. Inside the chateau there is a permanent exhibition of the historic furniture and the art gallery of Ladislav Mednyansky an important 19th century artist and the former owner of the property. The complex is now part of the nation's heritage and its ownership comes within the Slovak National Gallery.

Spišská Belá
This is a medieval Spis town founded in 1263. The town square is dominated by the splendid architecture of the church of St Anton, built in the 19th century on the site of the former roman style church which dated from 1264. Approximately 200m from the church there is the J.M.Petzval Museum dedicated to this famous scientist and inventor of high intensity photography. The museum contains a fine collection of cameras andd old photographic equipment.

Liptovský Hrádok - Vodný hrad
Part of the National Heritage reserve. The former 14th century gothic church was built on limestone rock near to the Bela river by the Squire Donc, the Kings Deputy of Zvolen. It was an important watchtower looking over the medieval merchant roads. The castle was owned by the King until the end of the 15th century. A new chateau built in the renaissance style by the new owner, Lady Magdalena Zay, was added during the 16th century. Following a catastrophic fire in 1803 both buildings were destroyed. |

High Tatras:
High Tatras with its 24 peaks higher than 2.500 m above sea level provide the only mountains with an Alpine character in the whole of the 1.200 km length of the Carpathian Mountain range.
The town of High Tatras was founded in 1947 and it has a population of 5,000 residents. The Administrative centre of the town is Stary Smokovec, which together with Tatranska Lomnica and Strbske Pleso provides the focal point for one of the three most important Tatra tourist resorts. High Tatras covers an area of 398 square km and is one of the largest cities in the Slovak republic.
