Traditionally, the natural springs are believed to have beneficial effects on a human body. The High Tatras are the home of many of them. One of these “sources of health” can be found also in Starý Smokovec. Kyselka has a sour taste, as the slovak name indicates. The oldest reference of the springs dates back to 1764. It was the huge interest in this mineral spring, which led to the establishment of Starý Smokovec. The spring is being looked for by tourists also nowadays. The spring´s quality is under control, having the colour of ferruginous water and pH 3,4. Kyselka is freely availabe in a newly built arbor, however it is not determined for long-term consumption.
