Facts: Trail No.6: Starting point: 1020 a.s.l. Ending point: 1295 a.s.l. Total trail length: 4,8 km (2x2,4 km) Elevation: 275 m The starting point of this trail is situated in Stary Smokovec, on the city parking area behind the Grandhotel (200 m over Townhall and main road II/537). From here the trail rises continuosly on the 2,8 km long asphalt road heading to the Hrebienok mountain hotel. (the trail is also known as a "sleigh trail", because during winter it is used by skiers and sleighers). The end of the trail is situated near to the small "Slalom Club" restaurant, located at approximately 300 m behind the Hrebienok Hotel. From here it is possible to use the winter downhill trail Hrebienok - Stary Smokovec, which is ideal for biking in summer. However, the Tanap - National Park regulations do not permit such use, so it is necessary turn to return from this point back along the same route down to Smokovec. The curves of the "sleigh trail" are perfectly shaped and so it is essential that care is taken during this relatively fast downhill road because of the traffic along the road of cars and lorries delivering supplies to the mountain hotels.

High Tatras:
The town of High Tatras was founded in 1947 and it has a population of 5,000 residents. The Administrative centre of the town is Stary Smokovec, which together with Tatranska Lomnica and Strbske Pleso provides the focal point for one of the three most important Tatra tourist resorts. High Tatras covers an area of 398 square km and is one of the largest cities in the Slovak republic.
